    • About Volunteering

    Volunteering with BSFD is rewarding in many ways. It's a team-oriented atmosphere, and a way to get involved in and give back to the community. It's neighbors helping neighbors. It's being willing and available for emergency situations, and having the skills and tools to do so. We work hard, do have fun, and find that volunteering is not that painful an endeavor!

    Some insight about volunteering.

    Volunteering can also be an opportunity to explore the EMS system and gain experience in both the Medical or Firefighting areas. All personnel are encouraged to be involved in both aspects of the department. Being a Team Player is a mandatory requisite as well as having flexibility: calls for service are 24/7.

    All applicants are subject to background checks, and must be physically able to meet certain requirements. Motor vehicle records are checked as all members are potential operators of the various department vehicles. No CDL is required at this time.
